Harry Holt has years of experience in cutting and polishing a range of stones,
particularly specialising in Agates and Picture Jaspers. With their combined expertise they source and stock
a vast range of Gemstones from around the world. They constantly seek out new and unusual stones to bring
you an incredible choice of gems. For instance many people assume that all Garnets are dark red, yet they
actually range from green through to yellow, orange and various shades of red.
|
With their worldwide suppliers, the Milestone are able to stock a pink Rhodonite
Garnet, an ‘emerald’ colour Tsavorite garnet from Africa, and a vibrant orange Mandarin garnet from
newly discovered sources in Madagascar.
For each gemstone you can think of Harry & Judy are able to offer you a seemingly almost endless variety of
options to choose from, not only in terms of colour but also shapes and facets.
Many Gemstones can be enhanced by specialist cutting, to bring out the unique qualities of each piece. One of
their suppliers, Jerry Galarneau from Phoenix Arizona, has developed his own distinctive style of Convex
Faceting to produce one-off pieces. Each one takes several hours to cut but the results are breathtaking and
quite unique.
We also stock exquisite cameos produced by Erwin Pauly in his workshop at Idar
Oberstein in Germany.
|
He is considered to be the leading European hard stone cameo cutter and has passed
on his skills to his youngest son to ensure the family tradition continues. His can be commissioned to
produce cameos of your own design e.g. to feature a profile of your loved one or a special place. His
exceptional cameos are all signed and are heirlooms of the future.
